Former Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray have confirmed their participation in the anti-BJP leaders conclave scheduled to be organised in Patna on June 23.
The National President of JDU, Rajiv Ranjan Singh said here today all the top leaders of different opposition parties had informed they would attend the meeting. Singh said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren Delhi Chief Minister Arwind Kejriwal have also consented to attend the event.
Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samahwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and CPM leader Sitaram Yechuri are also coming, Singh said. However, there is no communication from Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Telangana Chief Minister K C Rao.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had held meetings with the two leaders recently. The opposition conclave will be held at Bapu Sabhagar on the banks of Ganga. In 1975, Sarvodaya leader Jayaprakash Narain had hosted opposition leaders unity meeting against the Congress government led by Mrs Indira Gandhi.
