Tata Steel, with the help of the Jharkhand Police, conducted a raid behind Santosh Line hotel at the Baban Yadav Taal situated along National Highways 33 near Bhilaipahari (outskirts of Jamshedpur) in Jharkhand wherein Tata Tiscon TMT rebars were being stolen.
Tata Tiscon’s TMT rebars are sold across the country legitimately through channel partners. However, these stolen Rebars are sold in the market at lower costs as compared to Tata Tiscon rebars sold through the legitimate supply chain, contributing to tax evasion and is also instrumental in amassing of black money.
Upon receiving information about the unscrupulous activity, Tata Steel along with Jharkhand Police conducted a joint raid and seized around 4 TMT rebars weighing around 136.6 kg. The raid also led to the arrest of one individual. FIR has been registered under sections 379 and 411 of the Indian Penal Code.
