Raipur, April 21
Chhattisgarh Police had denied the reports of raiding Maoists’ hideouts in restive Bastar region using drones.
The Maoists outfit had issued a press statement alleging that the security personnel had conducted drone strike in the villages under Pamed police station in Bijapur district on April 19. They alleged even helicopters were used to bomb the hideouts of rebels in what could be the first air strike on the Left Wing Extremists (LWEs).
The rebels claimed that there was no casualty on their part.
The Chhattisgarh police reacted swiftly to the claims of rebels and denied using air mode to take on Maoists in Bastar. The Inspector General of Police (Bastar range), Sunderraj P refuted the charges and termed it as baseless.
