Raipur, July 28
Chairman of Chhattisgarh Committee of National Employers Federation Pradeep Tandon has asked the government not to provide any clause in the IR Code that provides that matters relating to promotion, transfer or disciplinary procedure be discussed with the union.
In a press statement released here today Tandon said that there were certain rights of the Management. If aforesaid subjects made a part of the negotiation, then the very spirit of managing the business would be taken away which is a fundamental right of an employer. He was reacting to the draft IR Code being circulated by the Ministry of Labour.
He said that draft rules also carry that a union with 30 per cent membership be recognized for negotiation but it should be 51 per cent as a minority of workers cannot force their negotiation on majority. Reacting to providing space to unions on the premises, he said that it would be provided to recognized unions and if there was more than one union, they had to share the same space.
