Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) East zone has appointed Pradeep Tandon as Chairman of its skill development sub-committee for the year 2022-23.
The East Zone office covers issues related to industries in West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Orissa. The Mission of Skill Development Sub Committee 2022-23 will be to enhance the skills of the available workforce including youth for employment. Skill development while using technology should be job oriented.
Creating a skill ecosystem for the “After Corona (AC) world” for increased participation of industries is a huge challenge. It is going to ensure self-employment towards a self-reliant India and also for promoting entrepreneurship among the youth. CII’s Skill Development Sub-Committee 2022-23 will focus on strengthening the skill ecosystem by working with all stakeholders and creating a demand-driven result-oriented skilling program. It will also ensure partnership between industry and government for up-skilling and scaling up apprenticeship of the unemployed.
It will sensitize the working of industries and their orientation further. It will also identify the shortcomings and gaps and will help in better collaboration in all areas. To achieve these goals, the committee has prescribed an action plan for Strengthening the skill ecosystem, facilitating industry participation to improve the quality of training through technical know-how. Skill competition, linking youth with jobs and career opportunities, promotion of skill center projects, etc. Will be the key initiatives for better and skilled availability of unemployed and employed as well.
Chhattisgarh government had previously appointed Pradeep Tandon as a member of its skilling Committee.
