Rohtas-born election strategist Prashant Kishor Pandey, who turned down the offer of Congress to join the party last week, has now decided to launch his own party from his home state-Bihar.
PK, as fondly known, had acted as political advisors to seven political parties in last ten years during elections. He had declared himself Chanakya and now decided to assume the role of Chandraagupta.
Kishor who reached here announced he would be going to the real masters (people) to understand better their issues and path to good governance.
In a tweet, Kishor said “quest to be meaningful participant in democracy and help shape pro-people has led me to ten yearsv of roller coaster ride. As I turn pages, it is time to go to the real masters (Maalik).” He would be camping in Bihar and tour different districts to launch his Jan Suraj.
According to the former vice-president of JDU, he would be interact with the selected groups of intellectuals in Patna for next two days and have a press conference on May 4. He was expelled from JDU on January 29, 2020 by the principal secretary general of party, K C Tyagi for criticism of JDU stand on Citizenship Amendment Act which was opposed by then national president of party Nitish Kumar.
He claimed himself to be the Chankya of Indian politics having given political instructions to the BJP, JDU, TMC, Congress, DMK, TRC earlier interacted with 52 selected retired bureaucrats with Bihar connections. They included the former foreign secretary, Shyam Sharan, former chairman of SEBI, U K Sinha and sought their involvement in Jan Suraj.
He talked to some reputed retired civil servants from Bihar also and is reported to have told them “there is no difference between Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar. People of people had tolerated Lalu-Rabri for 15 years and tolerating Nitish for the last 17 years and for the next 15 years, they will have to tolerate Tejashwi.”
He shared some of the talks with the intellectuals on his social media site, much to the dislike of Nitish Kumar who had claimed Prashant Kishor was imposed on JDU by the then BJP president, Amit Shah.
Reacting to the claim of Kishor that he was a Chankya, deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader, Ms Renu Devi said, “Each and every child in Bihar is Chankya”. A 376 BC scholar from Patna City, old Patna, Chankya was architect of Mauryan empire and helped Chandragupta tp take over as King of ancient Magadh empire.
Former deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader, Sushil Kumar Modi, in a statement mocked the claim of PK as a King maker and said advising political parties on election campaign is far different from contesting elections.
Without taking name of PK, Modi said his experiment to float a new political party would be a total flop as there was no scope of any other outfit except four BJP, Congress, RJD and JDU.
