President Droupadi Murmu on Friday morning landed in the Chhattisgarh capital on a two-day state visit.
Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai accorded a rousing welcome to the President at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur.
The President straight away drove to attend the convocation ceremony of AIIMS and NIT in the capital Raipur. During her visit, Murmu will inaugurate the Surguja block at Purkhauti Muktangan campus in Raipur and will release the 9th installment of the Chhattisgarh government’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana to 7 million women beneficiaries. She will discuss with the beneficiaries of the scheme.
Murmu will attend the convocation ceremony of IIT Bhilai and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Science and AYUSH University in Nava Raipur on October 26 after offering prayer at the Jagannath Temple in the state capital. She will return on Saturday evening.
This is the second visit of the President to Chhattisgarh after assuming office.
