His Majesty Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarik conferred upon Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi the ‘Order of Oman’ award for his exceptional contribution to India-Oman ties and his visionary leadership.
Prime Minister dedicated the honour to the age-old friendship between the two countries and called it a tribute to the warmth and affection between the 1.4 billion people of India and the people of Oman.
The conferment of the honour during the Prime Minister’s visit to Oman, coinciding with the completion of 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, imparted special significance to the occasion and to the Strategic Partnership.
Instituted in 1970 by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Order of Oman has been bestowed upon select global leaders in recognition of their contribution to public life and bilateral relations.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has called it a moment of immense pride for the nation. Sai said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s conferment with Oman’s highest civilian honour, “The First Class of the Order of Oman,” reflects his visionary leadership, global influence and India’s rising international stature.
The Chief Minister said that this 29th international honour bestowed upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not merely a recognition of an individual, but a declaration of India’s acceptance as an emerging global power and its strong credibility within the international community. Under his leadership, India today is providing new direction on the global stage as a self-reliant, decisive and influential nation.
The Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s leadership, India has not only strengthened itself economically, technologically and strategically, but has also emerged as a leading force in promoting global peace, stability and cooperation. He said the honour is a matter of pride for every Indian and elevates the nation’s prestige on the world stage.
