Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met President Droupadi Murmu and tendered his resignation along with council of ministers.
After the cabinet meeting held in the New Delhi today, Modi reached the Rashtrapati Bhawan and completed the constitutional formalities. The current term of the Prime Minister ended with the final results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
The BJP has emerged as a single largest party while has crossed the absolute majority mark with the allies. The party is likely to stake claim to form the next government after the National democratic Alliance (NDA) scheduled later today.
A communique from the Rashtrapati Bhawan said the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, met the President today and tendered his resignation along with the Council of Ministers.
The President has accepted the resignation and requested Shri Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers to continue till the new Government assumes office, it added.
