Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning tried to pacify the sulking Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey who was denied by the BJP from Buxar in Bihar.
Modi invited Choubey next to his chair at an election meeting at Gaya in central Bugar, 100 km north from here. The Prime Minister talked to him and patted on his back.
Choubey had ventilated his hurt feelings at Mahila Charkha Samiti residence of Jayaprakash Narayan here on April 8 and alleged conspiracy behind denial of party ticket from Buxar that he represented since 2014.
He was taken to Gaya in a helicopter hired by the Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha. Choubey appeared at any NDA meeting for the first time and had even avoided Prime Minister’s rallies held earlier. He did not go to Buxar either.
After meeting Modi, Choubey left for New Delhi and went to Nagpur to meet RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat. He will meet the North Indian voters in the orange city to seek votes for the Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari.
