Prime Minister urges “Parivarjan” to wage war on corruption, dynastic politics and appeasement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the Nation with the new salutation, beginning with ‘mere priya 140 crore parivarjan’ (my dear 140 crore family members) instead of the usual ‘mere pyare deshwashiyon’ (my dear countrymen).

Addressing the country from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 77th Independence Day today morning, the Prime Minister urged Parivarjan to declare war on corruption, dynastic politics and appeasement in order to achieve the goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.

Asserting that India was not going to pause in its onward march now, Modi listed “corruption, family-based parties and vote-bank politics as the three evils sapping national capacity and potential.” “I seek your help to eradicate some evils that have crept into our society in the past 75 years,” the Prime Minister said, listing the need for propriety, transparency and impartiality to make India developed by 2047.

Modi said the country could “no longer shut its eyes to these evils”.  “Some aberrations have become such a part of the social system that sometimes we close our eyes to them. This is not the time to close eyes. If we have to counter these evils, we have to look them in the eye and fight the evils,” he said, adding that a “war against corruption in all sectors is a must”.

The Prime Minister listed past achievements of the government and laid the roadmap for the future promising to return on August 15 next year to report further progress.

Referring to the disturbance in a north eastern state, the Prime Minister said, “India stands with the people of Manipur and expressed confidence that there shall be a peaceful resolution of the problems there.”

He said that there has been a period of unrest and violence in Manipur and news of attacks on the dignity of women, he noted that people of Manipur are maintaining peace for some time and asked that the process of peace be carried forward. “The state and the central government are working together to solve those problems and will continue to do so”, he said.

Recalling the Non-Cooperation Movement and Satyagraha Movement under Mahatma Gandhi and sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and numerous Bravehearts, he said that almost everyone from that generation took part in the freedom struggle.

He underlined the key anniversaries that are taking place in this momentous year. Today marks the conclusion of the 150th Jayanti year of the great revolutionary and spiritual icon Sri Aurobindo. He also mentioned the 150th year of Swami Dayanand’s Jayanti, 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgawati which will be celebrated with great enthusiasm. He also noted the 525 years of paragon of Bhakti Yog Sant Meera Bai. Next Republic Day too will be the 75th Republic Day, he said. “In many ways, many opportunities, many possibilities, every moment new inspiration, moment by moment new consciousness, every moment dreams, moment by moment resolution, perhaps there can be no greater opportunity to be engaged in nation building than this”, Modi added.

Nation celebrates 77th Independence Day

As part of the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi, 50 Nurses along with their family members from across the country were invited as Special Guests to witness and participate in the celebrations from the ramparts of the Red Fort. These Special Guests was part of the 1800 special guests from various walks of life ranging from Sarpanches, teachers, farmers, and fishermen.

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi appreciated the nurses, doctors and others for their efforts for changing the fortunes of the country. He said that Covid has taught us that development of the world is not possible without a human centric approach.

Accentuating the efforts of the government to improve the Universal Health Coverage of the country, he said that the government has invested Rs. 70,000 crores in Ayushman Bharat which provides Rs.5 lakh annual health guarantee to the BPL families.

Addressing the nation on the occasion, he lauded the exemplary contribution of health workers specially Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers for their dedication and persistent efforts in achieving the milestone of over 200 crore Covid vaccinations. “Helping the world during and after COVID has established India as a friend to the world”, he further noted.

Highlighting the vision of One Earth, One Health and One Future, he said “Jan Aushadhi Kendras have given new strength to the middle class of the country by savings of Rs. 20,000 crores. He affirmed that nation is going to work in the coming days with the target of increasing the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras to 25,000 from the present number of 10000 Kendras.

The Prime Minister informed that as a result of all the efforts, 13.5 crore poor people have broken free from the chains of poverty and entered the new middle class, during the one tenure of five years of the government. The PM told that there can be no greater satisfaction in life than this. The PM added that the various schemes ranging from housing schemes, provision of 50,000 crore rupees to street vendors through the PM SVANidhi scheme, and many more such schemes have aided these 13.5 crore people to rise above the hardships of poverty.
