Soon after the announcement of results of all the 243 seats election for Bihar assembly, the former union energy minister, R K Singh , resigned from the primary membership of the BJP.
Singh, a former member of Lok Sabha from Ara constitutency in Bihar was earlier suspended by the BJP state leadership. He was charged with damaging the party through his recent statements .He had alleged Rs 62000 crores corruption in allotment of a power project in the state and suggested voters to reject the criminal elements fielded by NDA in the assembly elections
Singh who was former union Home secretary in his resignation letter to the party president,JPNadda,said he had issued statements to prevent corruption and criminilisation of politics .He had protested party action of fielding nominees with history of crimes.
Singh, a1975 batch IAS officer, came into the fame in 1990 when he had arrested LK Adwani during Somnath-Ayodhaya yatra in 1990.
