Congress leader Rahul Gandhi finally broke his silence on Jyotiraditya Scindia’s exit from the party and said he could have become Chief Minister but had become a backbencher in the BJP.
This was for the first time Rahul Gandhi took a sharp jibe at his former aide. Scindia had resigned from the Congress party and joined the BJP in March last year after raising a revolt that resulted in toppling the Congress-led Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh.
He was interacting with the office bearers and workers of the Youth Congress to discuss the national issues. Rahul Gandhi said, “He (Scindia) would have become the Chief Minister had he stayed with Congress but Scindia has become a backbencher in the BJP.”
Scindia had the option to strengthen the organisation by working with Congress workers. “I told him – One day you will become the Chief Minister. But he chose another route,” he added.
The former Congress President also asked the Youth party workers to fight the ideology of RSS and not be afraid of “anyone”. He added that it would help in keeping India’s diversified culture intact.
