Raipur, February 3
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has posted a series of questions for Rahul Gandhi over the performance of his party-led government in the state.
The Congress leader and Member of Parliament is on a day-long visit to Chhattisgarh to launch to inaugurate various schemes and developmental works that include releasing the first instalment of the amount to the farmers under the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumihin Krishi Majdur Nyay Yojana and laying the foundation stone of Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti in Raipur.
In a tweet, Raman Singh said the youths, women, farmers, soldiers, labourers and daughters of Chhattisgarh, who have been victims of wrong policies, mismanagement and duplicitousness of the Congress government in the state, wish to ask a few questions.
Singh said despite making a vow in the election manifesto, why Congress government failed to take a call on total liquor prohibition, regularisation, unemployment allowance? Of the 36 pledges, not even 10 could be fulfilled, he added.
The former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, who ruled the state for 15 years, questioned who would be held accountable for depriving over 8 lakh poor people to get a subsidized house. Referring to the state finances, Singh asked if the Congress government intended to burden the state with debt and keep the properties mortgage as the state is already carrying a loan burden by borrowing Rs 51,000 crore in the last three years.
The BJP leader also raked up the issue of alleged power sharing formula and said the state had been paying the cost for the uncertainty and anticipated an earliest resolution.
