Raipur, March 24
President of India Droupadi Murmu was accorded a grand rousing welcome on her arrival at the Swami Vivekanand airport in Raipur on Monday.
Murmu landed at the Raipur airport in a special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft. Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai received the President at the tarmac.
Union Minister Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Raipur Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agarwal, Mayor Meenal Choubey, former Governor Ramesh Bais, Ms. Saroj Pandey, Gaurishankar Agarwal, Shivratan Sharma and other public representatives and officials also welcomed the President at the airport.
The folk artists from Chhattisgarh welcomed Murmu with the traditional dance outside the airport.
Murmu is on a short visit to Chhattisgarh. After attending the silver jubilee function of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, she will return to the airport and fly to Odisha.
