Union Law, Justice and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday asked the management of Tata Steel Limited to produce more medical oxygen from its Jamshedpur plant for the benefit of the Corona patients in Bihar.
Prasad, who represents Patna Saheb in Lok Sabha, talked to the chairman of Tata group Natrajanan Chandrashekharan over phone and requested uninterrupted supply of liquid oxygen for Bihar. He also urged the Tata head assist civic authorities in Patna in sanstisation,and tests for Corona by sending its team to Bihar capital,
Prasad talked to the union steel minister Dharmendra Pradhan and sought his help in directing the managing director of Bokaro Steel Plant to supply more oxygen from its Bokaro steel plant for Patna.
The union minister said he talked to the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh and requested him to depute team of Army doctors and para medical staff in Patna for treatment of the Covid 19 patients.
He instructed the district magistrate of Patna to have effective co-ordination with the managements of private hospitals for better treatment of the Corona patients.
Meanwhile, Bihar’s health minister Mangal Pandey today said the situation was very frightening in Bihar as Remdesivir injection was not available for all patients. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today talked to the union chemicals and fertiliser minister, Mansukhbhai Mandviya and requested him to supply more injections for Bihar by doubling its production.
Differences between the ruling NDA on corona crisis surfaced today when state BJP president, Sanjay Jaiswal, alleged his advice was not accepted by the government during the all-party meeting chaired by Governor Fagu Chauhan yesterday. He said he had recommended total lockdown in the state for a week and claimed he had submitted the proposal a day earlier. But the government unilateraly decided for only night curfew.
Jaiswal, said “I wonder,how Corona will be controlled by imposing only night Curfew. There should be a total ban on people coming out of their homes to prevent spread of Corona virus.He expressed fear Bihar may go Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh way as situation would worsen.
Health Minister reacted by saying, “we have to fight against Corona and not among each other.”
A former education minister and senior JDU legislator Mewa Lal Chaudhury died of Corona in a private hospital here on Monday morning.He was admitted in the hospital on Saturday.
