REC Limited on Tuesday announced the incorporation of Mekhali Power Transmission Limited as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
“Mekhali Power Transmission Limited has been incorporated as Wholly Owned Subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (“RECPDCL” – a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of REC Limited),” the company said in a regulatory filing today. The said company is also subsidiary company of REC Limited, in terms of the provisions of Section 2 (87) of the Companies Act, 2013, it added.
The Energy department of Government of Karnataka vide order dated March 4, 2025 had allocated one intra-state transmission project, wherein RECPDCL was appointed to act as Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for the purpose of selection of Bidder for Establishing 400 KV Substation at Mekhali along with associated transmission lines (Eelagavi District, Karnataka) .
In view of the above, Mekhali Power Transmission Limited was incorporated on May 20, 2025.
