Raipur, October 16
The Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (CG RERA) gave a big jolt to the Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CHB) and exposed its serious negligence in executing major projects.
The Board is struggling with the stressed properties as it is hardly finding buyers. The RERA order against it reveals the callous attitude of the CHB in providing basic facilities to the seller despite promising on pamphlets.
The Green’s Villa Boriyakala Resident Welfare Society in Chhattisgarh’s capital filed a complaint against the CHB. The colony developed by the CHB is one of the poshest residential areas in Raipur.
The CG RERA observed that despite mentioning the amenities, the CHB evaded. In one of its rare orders, the RERA firmly asked the CHB to provide the features mentioned in the brochures and even set a deadline for its execution.
The CHB Commissioner had been asked to take a call on building a swimming pool and health centre in the colony within two months and intimate the authority.
Besides, RERA ordered the construction of a Club House, Air-conditioned Community Centre, Pool-side Eatery, Rain Water Harvesting and Restaurant within a year. It also directed the Housing Board to install the fire fighting systems and repair the roads and boundary wall within two months.
RERA said the CHB would collect the maintenance fee from the house owners till the colony was handed over and utilize it for providing basic facilities to the people.
