Retired Chhattisgarh IPS officer S K Paswan joins Prashant Kishor’s campaign

Retired Indian Police service (IPS) officer and Director General in Chhattisgarh Sant Kumar Paswan has joined the Jan Suraj Abhiyan launched by poll strategist Prashant Kishor.

Kishor’s has launched the Abhiyan that completed a year on May 2. The padyatra (foot march) has covered almost 3,000 km in seven districts of Bihar. He is likely to undertake padyatra in the remaining 30 districts as well.

Fondly known as PK, Kishor has been targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) through his campaign. He has launched scathing attacks on the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also.

More than 200 IAS, IPS, doctors, advocates and people from different professions are associated with Jan Suraj Abhiyan, Kishor has claimed. The formal joining process started on May 2. “In the coming next six months, more people will join us,” Kishor said at Vaishali recently.

According to sources, Kishor has got a shot in the arm with 12 former Indian Police Service (IPS) officers joining the Jan Suraj Abhiyan in Bihar on Sunday. On May 2, six IAS officers joined the campaign.

Of the 12 former IPS officers include Chhattisgarh’s former DG (jails) Sant Kumar Paswan. An Indian Police Service officer of 1978 batch, Paswan has the distinction of having served the maximum period among all IPS officers in the state in Maoist-hit areas.
