RJD of Lalu Prasad Yadav has taken lead in the Bihar elections, literally, when it comes to organizing public meetings.
RJD leader Tejaswhi Prasad Yadav, who had started his election campaign with six public meetings last week created a record by attending rallies at 12 places, criss crossing the state.
On Tuesday, he had addressed nine public meetings. This is in contrast to four to five public meetings addressed by chief minister Nitish Kumar per day.
Tejaswhi started the day by touching feet of his mother Rabri Devi at 10, Circular Road early morning. His three meetings were in Rohtas district-Kargahar, Dinara and Sasaram followed by meetings at Nokha, Arwal, Jahanabad, Aurangabad districts.
In every public meeting, he assures the massive audience, much bigger than those attending Nitish Kumar rallies, “I will not give a Pakau (Boring) lecture like my Chacha (referring to Nitish Kumar).” He is talking to them in their local dialects-Bhojpuri and Magahi only and avoiding Hindi. Ridiculing the claim of the chief minister that had worked for Vikash (development) of Bihar, Tejaswhi alleged Nitish brought destruction (Vinash) in the state.
Without referring to the 2015 comments of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi that the DNA of Nitish was defective, Tejaswhi claims “my DNA is pure.”
He advised Nitish Kumar to retire as he was “exhausted and tired both physically and mentally.”
Speaking at Obra in Aurangabad district, Tejaswhi said in his the first action as chief minister, he would order government jobs to one million youths, waive all fees for examinations, withdraw the October 9 orders of the general administration department for seeking forced retirement of the government employees with 30 years experiences or 50 years of age.
He is quite hopeful of celebrating his birthday on November 9, a day before the results would be announced in the company of Lalu Prasad, who is expected to be released on bail from Ranchi jail. Tejaswhi said at all the public meetings “Results would be announced on November 10, a day after my birth day. I will be the chief minister and Nitish Kumar will be given farewell on November 10.”
He explained he was extending the number of daily public meetings due to heavy and positive response from the people. “I am the single star campaigner of RJD that has one helicopter and candidates demand my presence only.”
