Recognizing in-house exceptional contributions and performance, the Maharatna Company Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) presented the prestigious Corporate Awards for Excellence for 2023 and 2024 at a ceremony in New Delhi on Monday.
The event honored 25 employees across 11 categories. Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) bagged multiple awards in the award ceremony.
In the awards announced for the year 2022-23, Ramakrishna Patra, CGM (Quality), has been chosen for the Productivity Expert, recognizing his efforts in driving efficiency and innovation at RSP. S K Bhanjadeo, former Senior Operative, Blast Furnaces has been chosen for the SAIL Karmaveer Award, celebrating his dedication and hard work in ensuring operational excellence.
Similarly for the year 2023-24, Ms. Sunita Singh, CGM (PPC), has been the proud recipient of Women Trailblazer Award for her exceptional contributions to the organization and her role in empowering women in the steel industry. Nerella Kameswar Rao, GM (F&A) has been selected as a joint winner for the Cost Champion & Finance Wizard award, acknowledging his exceptional financial acumen and cost management strategies.
In the Role Model Award for Divyangjan (PwD Category), Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra, Senior Manager (Projects & Modernization), has been chosen for his inspiring contributions and unwavering commitment to workplace inclusivity. Dhiraj Kumar, Senior Manager (T&RM), has been selected to receive the Young Achiever Award, reinforcing the talent and dynamic leadership emerging from RSP.
Launched in 2020, the awards celebrate achievements in areas such as profitability, cost reduction, process efficiency, technology adoption, motivation, marketing innovation, and safety practices among others. The ceremony was graced by SAIL’s Chairman, Board of Directors, Chief Vigilance Officer, and other senior officials, underscoring the organization’s commitment to employee engagement and excellence.
