Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel chaired a state-level DISHA Committee meeting to review the collective programs and schemes under the DISHA Committee.
The meeting was held at the Vikas Bhawan office on Sunday. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring that the targeted beneficiaries receive the benefits of various government schemes. He also directed the officials to achieve the scheme targets within the stipulated time frame. He further added that rural employment got a major boost through the Gauthan and RIPA initiatives. The establishment of C-Mart has greatly facilitated the sale of products manufactured by self-help groups. Additionally, the members of these groups are being trained to increase their employability.
In the State-Level DISHA Committee’s review meeting, Baghel also discussed the monitoring and evaluation of various programs implemented by the Central Government, as well as increasing coordination between the Center and the State.
Various programs and schemes related to the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Agriculture Department, Tribal Development Department, Social Welfare Department, Urban Development Department, Health Department, Revenue Department, Energy Department, Industry Department, Village Industries Department, Women and Child Development Department, Education Department, Food Department, Skill Development, CHiPS, Mineral Department, Water Resources Department, and Public Works Department were reviewed.
While giving information about the works under MNREGA in the review meeting, it was stated that as of September 2023, 19.92 lakh families have received work under MNREGA, while 1,36,838 works are completed. Under MNREGA, 5,690 new ponds and 2,915 Amrit Sarovar were constructed in the last five years. The state ranks 7th nationally in Aadhaar-based payments. All the works approved under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana-2 were completed.
Chhattisgarh has achieved a remarkable feat by being the first state to achieve 100 per cent approval of 5612 km of length under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana-3 and completing all of it successfully. In the first phase of the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, 175 villages were selected, and all of them were declared model villages after completing the desired indicators. It is a great achievement for the state and will certainly help in the development of rural areas.
The Health Department’s Mukhyamantri Haat Bazaar Clinic Yojana conducted free tests and distributed free medicines to over 1.37 crore people last year. The maternal mortality ratio has declined by 23 points, which is the second-highest decline in the country.
Member of Parliament Guharam Ajgale, Parliamentary Secretary Kunwar Singh Nishad, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo, Mrs. Renu Pillay, and all the secretaries in charge were present during the meeting.
