Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Wednesday lobbed fresh volley on the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan on exam paper leaks.
Addressing a farmers’ rally in Jhunjhunu, Pilot also targeted the government over the political appointments of retired bureaucrats instead of party workers. The development is seen as a fresh campaign of Pilot against Gehlot; reviving the rift within the Congress in Rajasthan, where the Chief Minister and his former deputy are locked in a power tussle.
The political circle was buzzed with the truce between the two group but that appeared temporary for the Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra that passed through the state. Pilot’s supporters are back in action and openly demanding change of guard.
Rajasthan SC Commission Chairman Khiladi Bairwa and minister Rajendra Gudha said in the meeting that people of the state, especially the youth, wanted the former state Congress chief to be made the Chief Minister. “Everyone is asking when will Pilot become the chief minister. People are waiting,” Gudha, who is minister of state for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, said.
Even Bairwa said, People ask him when will Pilot be made the Chief Minister and he tell them the party high command will take the decision at an appropriate time.
Pilot has been targeting the Gehlot government over the paper leak incidents for the last two days and had demanded that the “big sharks” involved in the leaks should be arrested.
Reacting to Pilot, Gehlot had said action was taken against the main accused.
