Chairman-cum-Managing Director of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) Dr Prem Sagar Mishra today inaugurated the annual Mine Safety Fortnight at the company’s headquarters in Bilaspur.
Dr Mishra unfurl the safety flag in SECL Headquarters Administrative Building premises to start the campaign. SECL Director Technical (Operations) S K Pal, Director Technical (Planning/Projects), S N Kapri, B P Singh General Manager (Mines Safety/Rescue), A K Saxena, General Manager (Personnel/Administration), various heads of departments, representatives of various trade unions, officers and employees were present on the occasion.
At the beginning of the program, the chief guest and the distinguished guests garlanded the martyr’s memorial and the miner’s statue. The chief guest hoisted the safety flag, after which the Coal India corporate song was played. On this occasion, the Suraksha Se Samriddhi brochure was released by the chief guest and special guests.
In his address, Dr Mishra wished all well for the employees working in the underground mine, open mine or office. “We pray every worker reaches home safely after work as it hurts a lot to hear anyone getting hurt,” Dr Mishra said, adding that they should build such a system so that every person, every worker could feel safe and could reach home safely. The CMD added no person shall knowingly do any act which is injurious to himself or to those who work with him.
Dr Mishra administered the security oath to the employees.
