Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), an arm of state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), beat several records on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti.
Surpassing a ten year old record of 18,182 Tonne (T) made on August 14, 2010, the Plant produced 18,208 Tonne of hot metal on January 14, 2021, thereby also recording the highest daily production by any steel plant in SAIL so far.
The graph of performance of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has been rising in the recent days of January 2021. Besides achieving record levels of hot metal production, several interventions have been taken to improve performance of Steel Melting Shop 3 (SMS 3), SMS 2 and several other associated shops.
