SAIL-Bhilai sinter plant, plate mill set new records in daily production

SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Sinter Plant and Plate Mill have set new records by achieving the best performance in daily production.

Sinter Plant has crossed the best daily production mark on 22^nd October 2023. With the production of 27049 tonnes of sinter, the Sinter Plant team has surpassed its previous best figure of 27017 tonnes of Sinter production on 11 March 2021. The team has brought pride in Sinter manufacturing with its efforts by producing 17525 tonnes of sinter from Sinter Plant-3 and 9524 tonnes of sinter from Sinter Plant-2, which the Sinter Plant fraternity will try to maintain in the coming days.

The achievement has been achieved with the cooperation of the Sinter Plant team and all the supporting departments. The entire Sinter Plant collective have worked for this and deserves adulation.

The Plate Mill Department of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant is emphasizing on supply in view of the increasing demand of Plates in the market. As a result of this, a record of best daily production of 6562 tonnes has been recorded on 21st October 2023.

It may be noted that the Plate Mill had recorded the historic achievement of rolling 422 slabs in the first shift on 21st October 2023. With the help of its hardworking team, Plate Mill has achieved a historic feat by rolling more than 400 slabs in a single shift. With better planning and coordination, the Plate mill fraternity has successfully rolled 422 slabs in the first shift.

Following the rolling, it broke its own record of 355 slabs made in the second shift last year on 03 October 2022. Along with this, breaking its old record of 373 finished Plates, it has set a new record by registering a record of finishing 502 Plates. In which the highest production of poly was 2613 tonnes. For the first time in its history, the Plate mill has crossed the figure of 400 in a single shift.

It is noteworthy that during the first half of the financial year 2023-24, from April to September, the Sinter Plant recorded a production of 29,87,719 tonnes of sinter.
