SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has once again reaffirmed its legacy of operational excellence, setting multiple production records in the month of July across key units and techno-parameters.

In Total Material Handling, the Ore Handling Plant (OHP) by the Plant registered a record 21,18,181 tonnes in July 2025, surpassing its own previous best of 19,86,239 tonnes achieved in July 2024. The Slab production at Steel Melting Shop-2 (SMS-2) touched 1,53,743 tonnes, marginally improving upon the earlier best of 1,51,360 tonnes recorded last July.

The Bar & Rod Mill (BRM) equipped to produce a wide range of products including Wire rod in Coil, TMT Rebar in Coil, TMT Rebar Straight and Quality Bar, produced an impressive 92,036 tonnes, surpassing last year’s record of 84,260 tonnes. Meanwhile, Direct Despatches at the Plant reached 2,79,839 tonnes, further improving the previous high of 2,43,507 tonnes recorded in July 2023, indicating improved coordination between production and dispatch systems.

Bhilai Steel Plant also recorded notable achievements in techno-parameters. The CDI Rate at Blast Furnace-6 improved to 109.20 kg/THM against the earlier best of 106.45 kg/THM in July 2024. Similarly, the Blast Furnace Productivity (1-8) touched 1.94 T/M³/day, the highest since July 2022.

In downstream efficiency, Labour Productivity reached an outstanding 731.40 T/M/Y, significantly higher than the 639.20 T/M/Y recorded in July 2024, underscoring improved workforce efficiency.
