As part of this prestigious honour, the Golden Peacock Secretariat has also authorized Bhilai Steel Plant to use the Golden Peacock logo in both horizontal and vertical layouts in their official documents.

The Director In-Charge of Bhilai Steel Plant, Anirban Dasgupta, and his team have been invited to the grand award ceremony scheduled to take place in Mumbai on February 6 and 7, 2025. During the event, they will also give a presentation on HR initiatives. With this award, Bhilai Steel Plant has been recognized as a stellar example of excellence in HR management within the steel industry.

It is worth mentioning that in the fourth cycle of the Golden Peacock Awards 2024, the Secretariat of the Golden Peacock Awards, in collaboration with the Institute of Directors, India, invited applications from large, public, private, and SME enterprises across the country. This year, the awards particularly focused on recognizing excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Human Resources (HR) Excellence, and Innovation Management. The awards aim to felicitate organizations that have achieved excellence in these fields.

As many as 441 applications were received for the Golden Peacock Awards 2024. After a thorough three-tier evaluation process, 172 applications were shortlisted. The evaluation groups, dedicated to ensuring quality, sustainability, transparency, and fairness, conducted in-depth reviews and analysis. Only those applications that maintained high standards of excellence and world-class quality were ultimately selected.

A committee of experts in CSR, HR Management, and Innovation Management was formed to conduct a detailed review of the applications. Each submission was independently assessed, and the presentations were carefully analyzed by experts. The process included peer reviews to ensure transparency, sustainability, and fairness, which was a key aspect of the award’s selection process.

Based on self-assessment criteria, the applications were evaluated on a scale of 1000 points. A cut-off of 80 percent was set for the final selection to ensure only the highest-quality applications were deemed eligible for the awards. Among the shortlisted candidates, the organization with the highest score in each respective professional area was recommended for the final jury’s decision. The jury for this year’s awards was chaired by Justice U.U. Lalit, former Chief Justice of India.

After undergoing this rigorous process, Bhilai Steel Plant was selected as the winner of the Golden Peacock Award 2024 in the field of Human Resources, specifically in the Steel Industry sector.
