Plate Mill of SAIL- Bhilai is known worldwide for producing quality plates at par with international standards. The Mill currently produces plates in thickness sizes from 10 mm to 120 mm.

The Mill has also rolled out plates in desired thickness for use in satellite launch vehicles of India’s Space Mission.
With rapid growth being witnessed in infrastructure sector involving construction of tall and heavy structures, demand for thicker plates i.e. thickness more than 40 mm has increased.
