Two teams from SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant have excelled in a contest on productivity, green growth and sustainability organised by Odisha State Productivity Council, Bhubaneshwar.
SAIL-BSP’s teams from Coke Ovens Dept and Blast Furnaces Dept were awarded Productivity Excellence Award 2022 at the prize-distribution ceremony was held in a five-star hotel in Bhubaneshwar, recently. The Coke Ovens team was awarded 5 Star Productivity Excellence Award while the Blast Furnaces team was awarded 4 Star Productivity Excellence Award.
The two teams from SAIL-BSP had made online presentation of their Technical Papers on the subject under the guidance of GM (Business Excellence Department) Manoj Dubey. The Coke Ovens team led by Tarun Kanrar, CGM (CO and CCD) comprised of Sashikant Deo, Senior Manager (CO and CCD) and Chetan Ashok Phutane, Deputy Manager. The Blast Furnace Team led by Tokdar, CGM (Blast Furnace) comprised of Navin Kumar Tiwari and Manish Kumar Tiwari, both Deputy General Managers in Blast Furnace Department.
In their technical papers, both the teams from Coke Ovens and Blast Furnaces presented projects executed to enhance productivity in their respective departments.
In another development, SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Wire Rod Mill created a new day record of rolling 1710 billets to produce 1633 Tonnes of TMT 10 mm wire rods on March 9, 2023, surpassing previous best of rolling 1611 billets to produce 1530 T of same profile of TMT wire rods on September 10, 2021.
On March 10, 2023, the Plant’s LDCP department also set a new day record of producing 2420 Tonnes of lime and calcined dolomite, surpassing previous best record of 2396 Tonnes produced on February 5, 2023.
