SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Bar & Rod Mill, a Modex unit equipped with high-level automation and control systems has once again achieved a milestone by creating a new best-ever day production record in production.
The Mill that rolls out TMT Bars achieved a ‘Day Record’ in production on 26th September 2024 by rolling out a record 3,368 Tonnes (1,635 billets) in the challenging profile of 12 mm TMT Bars, by surpassing the previous best of 3,330 Tonnes (1,625 billets) achieved on 27th October 2023.
BRM has also achieved the record for the best daily production by rolling a record 1,259 billets on producing 2590 tonnes of TMT in the challenging profile of 10 mm TMT bars on 21st September 2024. With this, the mill surpassed the record of 2,580 tonnes rolled on 10th July 2024.
Anirban Dasgupta, Director I/c (Bhilai Steel Plant) along with Shri. Anjani Kumar, ED (Works), and Plant’s other Senior Officials congratulated BRM’s Team on this achievement and motivated them to work with the same spirit to achieve all the goals of this year and create many more such records.
Congratulating the entire mill fraternity on this achievement, HoD Yogesh Shastri, CGM (BRM) said that the feat of substantially increased production was made possible by continuous monitoring and hard work of the mill personnel and the full cooperation of the concerned departments.
The General Managers of BRM Department, including Sacchidanand Tripathy, Ashish, Shashwat Mohanty, Samir Pandey, and Shikhar Tiwary were also present on the occasion, along with other senior officials and personnel of BRM.
The products manufactured by Bar and Rod Mill of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant have been used in several infrastructural projects of national importance, including tunnels, bridges and highways in various parts of the country including Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, Coastal Road Projects, Central Vista Project, Border Road Projects, BARC Mumbai.
These remarkable achievements were made with collective efforts and coordination of employees of the respective departments. Plant personnel worked together with utmost dedication and completed given tasks on time, under the leadership of the Departmental Heads, resulting in improved productivity and breaking of previous records.
