SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Bar and Rod Mill has once again created new day production records for the second day in a row.
The Mill that rolls out TMT Bars achieved record production on June 17 and 18, 2023.
On June 16, 2023, during the second shift the BRM team under the leadership of Head of the Department Shri. Mukesh Gupta, CGM (BRM), decided to produce 36 mm TMT bars for the first time through the Central Line. They and started rolling the challenging profile and as a result, the department successfully produced 900 Tonnes on 17th June 2023 and 2340 Tonnes and 18th June 2023 respectively.
On the other hand, Plant’s Merchant Mill also recorded an ever best shift and day record on June 19, 2023 by producing angle 65x65x8 and shift record of 801 T against the previous best of 797 T, which was achieved on 19th March 2022 (C shift). The mill also achieved a best ever day record production of 2173 T, surpassing its previous best of 2029 T, achieved on 19th March 2022.
Anirban Dasgupta, Director I/c (Bhilai Steel Plant) along with Acting ED (Works) and Plant’s Senior Management congratulated the department personnel on this achievement by Plant’s BRM & MM departments.
The respective HODs of BRM and MM congratulated the entire mill fraternity on this achievement and said that this feat of substantially increased production was made possible by continuous monitoring and hard-work of the mill personnel and full cooperation of the concerned departments.
