Chairman of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) Ms. Soma Mondal today inaugurated and dedicated to the Nation the revamped Blast Furnace 7 after its Capital repair.
The BF 7 was blown-in after capital repair on October 26, 2022.
SAIL Chairman Ms. Soma Mondal visited Bhilai Steel Plant on Friday. At the outset, Ms. Mondal visited Safety Excellence Centre. After inaugurating the BF 7, she visited the Plate Mill, Sintering Plant III and Ore Handling Plant B.
As part of the ongoing digital transformation initiatives in Bhilai Steel Plant, QR code-based Drawing Retrieval System was inaugurated in Sinter Plant-III by Smt. Soma Mondal, Chairman, SAIL during her visit. All the drawings and manuals of any electrical panel can be directly downloaded in mobile phones at site by scanning the QR code pasted on that panel with the help of this system.
Chairman SAIL and all the senior officers complimented the team for this tremendous achievement and team work. They said that this system would be very useful and should be implemented in other departments and plants of SAIL also.
In the afternoon she chaired a Plant Performance review on Bhilai Steel Plant at Ispat bhavan. During her visit, SAIL Chairman also met members of Officers Association, Union representatives and members of SC/ST association at Ispat Bhavan.
Mondal left for Rajhara Mines in the evening.
