SAIL Chairman’s Trophy for Young Managers 2020-21 awards given away

The prestigious SAIL Chairman’s Trophy for Young Managers 2020-21 was organized on the theme – ‘Digital Transformation in SAIL’.

The team from BSP had won the trophy on 17th April 2021 through VC. The winning team comprises of Ms Neeraja Sharma, AGM (INCOS), Shri Shiv Kumar, Dy. Mgr. (BRM) and Shri S P Rajkumar, Dy. Mgr. (INCOS). The team from BSL was the runners-up.

The winning and runners-up teams are presented the SAIL CTYM Trophy by Chairman, SAIL every year. This year the trophies were presented through Video-Conferencing by Smt Soma Mondal, Chairman, SAIL with the teams connected online. The BSP team was presented Certificates by Dr S K Issar, ED (M&HS), while Director I/c, BSL presented the same to the runners-up team at Bokaro.

The teams from BSP and BSL made their presentations with a thrust on actionable points and progress in the digital transformation journey so far. The BSP team showcased the ongoing digitalization initiatives in BSP as well as other SAIL plants. Their categorization of such initiatives into short-term (0-1 year) to be completed by the end of 2021, medium-term with a timeline ending in 2023 and long-term targeting completion by 2025 was highly appreciated by Chairman, SAIL, Directors on SAIL Board, CEOs of RSP and ISP (with additional charge of DSP & ASP) and CVO, SAIL who were present online.

BSP teams have won the trophy 7 times (2004-05, 2007-08, 2009-10, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2016-17 and 2020-21). BSP teams have also been runners-up 5 times (2006-07, 2008-09, 2010-11, 2015-16, and 2018-19). Thus, out of the 17 contests since the inception of the competition in 2004-05, BSP teams have featured in the top two positions a total of 12 times.
