They come from different parts of the country, but what remains common is their veneration for the state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
“Working with the best steel company, SAIL, is a matter of pride,” a young batch of management trainees (Technical) were consonant when it came to rank country’s one of the largest steel producers.
The management trainees (Technical) have joined the state-run Maharatna company recently and have been posted at Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP). They would join their respective departments after their induction training.
These trainees have come from different parts of the country and Bhilai’s work culture has attracted them. Some of them expressed their views on joining SAIL-BSP.
Orissa resident Ms. Lipsemayi Shankhua has passed out with a degree in Geology from ISM, Dhanbad. Fond of music and dance, Ms. Shankhua says, “I’m glad I got an opportunity to work with Maharatna company SAIL.” Freedom at work in SAIL motivates one to perform well, she says. The work environment is conducive here and SAIL gives an opportunity to learn, she adds.
Aditya Rane is the third generation member from his family who has served SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant. He did his schooling in Bhilai and then did Fire Engineering from National Fire Service college, Nagpur. “I’ve heard thime story of success of BSP from my father over the years. I’ve heard a lot about the work culture of BSP and was motivated to join and work here,” he says. The advantage with SAIL is that if one wants to do something new, people help with your endeavour. There is a culture of teaching and learning here.
Shubham Karthikeya did Ceramic Engineering from IIT Varanasi. My dream since childhood was to work with SAIL that had turned to a reality today, Shubham says. A boxing enthusiast, he says it is a matter of pride to work with SAIL. It has its special place in the Manufacturing stream. SAIL has a special contribution in the country’s development and has a global presence from Defence to manufacturing sector. There is ample opportunity for operational management as well as career growth here, he says.
Lucknow resident Sachin Pal has passed out with a degree in Geology from ISM, Dhanbad. With interests in Badminton and Films, he feels that SAIL is one of the premier steel companies in the steels sector that has played a pivotal role in the Infrastructure development of our country. SAIL offers social security apart from job security, Sachin adds.
Bhilai’s greenery is soothing to the eyes. He had heard a lot about BSP and got a chance to see it closely today, he says.
