Rourkela, May 18
SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has entered into Job Agreements with two vendors namely Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Pvt Ltd, Kalunga and MSP Steel and Power Ltd, Raigarh for supply iron ore pellets.
The Job Agreements envisage supply of 10 lakh Tonne/year of low grade iron ore fines from Bolani Mine & Barsua Mine to the vendor’s works for conversion to iron ore pellets after beneficiation. As per the agreement RSP will get 650000 Tonne of iron ore pellets every year from both the vendors for consumption in Blast Furnaces. The vendors will do beneficiation of dump fines from Bolani Mines and tailings from Barsuan Mines before converting to iron ore pellets. The contracts will be valid for 3 years with provision to extend by another 2 years.
It is pertinent to mention that increase of pellets in Blast Furnace burden will improve the productivity and techno economics of the Blast Furnaces.
