Rourkela, March 21
As part of the Skill Development and Livelihood Generation CSR initiative of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a batch of 23 women belonging to Bijadihi, Jamsera, Jabapanposh, Jabaghat and Dalposh villages of Bisra Block were imparted training in Mushroom cultivation.
The 2-day training program was held by the CSR Department at the Institute for Peripheral Development (IPD), Sector-20 from 16th to 17th March, 2026. Manoj Agarwal, GM (HR-L&D) presided over the valedictory function held at IPD training centre on 17th March and handed over the certificates to the trainees for successful completion of the training programme.
The trainees were provided with theoretical inputs, practical demonstration and hands-on training for Mushroom Cultivation. After the completion of the training programme, each trainee was given self made mushroom growing kit bag and a bottle of mushroom seed to cultivate at their respective places and motivate others for the same. All the trainees expressed their satisfaction at the end of the training.
Kamala Toppo, Certified Mushroom Cultivation Trainer and Gokul Minz, Consultant, NIT, Rourkela were the Master Trainers of the program.
At the outset, Bivabasu Malik, GM (CSR) welcomed the gathering. P Sahoo, DGM (CSR) proposed a formal vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by B Ekka, Section Officer and the CSR team.
