The Coal Chemical Department (CCD) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has set back-to-back records in single day Crude Tar Dispatch on Saturday and Sunday.
The unit despatched 920 Tonnes of Crude Tar on 12th May, 2023 to set a record and followed it up with an impressive 1010 tonnes Crude Tar despatch the very next day i.e. on 13th May, 2023. With this, CCD generated a revenue of Rs 3.86 crore on 12th May and bettered it to Rs 4.16 crore on 13th May. Notably, RSP had earned revenue of Rs 486 crore through sales of crude tar in the last financial year i.e. 2022-23.
S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works) visited CCD to congratulate the collective for the outstanding performance. Debabrata Dutta, CGM In-Charge (Services), I Rajan, CGM (Utilities and Environment), Tularam Behera, CGM (Coke Ovens and CCD), Ravi Ranjan, CGM (Shops and Design), S C Mohanty, GM In-Charge (Marketing) and other Senior Officers of Coke Ovens, CCD, Marketing were present on the occasion. Suryawanshi presented sweets to the employees on the occasion.
The ED (Works) congratulated and highly applauded the concerted efforts of team CCD, Marketing department and all the supporting agencies and emphasised on tapping the tremendous potential of the department that will bring huge revenue to the coffer of the plant. “Efficient gas cleaning not only optimises Crude Tar production, but also ensures proper health of the gas pipe lines thereby helping the user departments in reducing maintenance cost and enhancing their performance as well,” he added.
All the CGMs also congratulated the collective on the stupendous effort and exhorted them to do even better in the future.
B K Tiwary, GM In-Charge, CCD coordinated the programme and assured the Senior Officers that the unit will make all out efforts to rise to the expectations of the top management.
