Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of the Maharatna company SAIL has registered its ‘best-ever’ H1 production performance in the three key areas viz. Hot Metal, Crude Steel and Saleable Steel.
In the April-September period of the Financial Year 2022-23, the Plant produced 21,28,528 tonnes of Hot Metal, 19,91,121 tonnes of Crude Steel and 18,37,458 tonnes of Saleable Steel which are highest for any H1, the company said in a statement.
The total sinter production too touched an all-time high of 3492367 tonnes during the period. The State-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 led the Rolling Mill units by rolling 6,97,000 Tonnes of HR Coil for sale. As a result the total dispatch of Saleable Steel touched a new high of 18,44,084 tonnes and setting a new bench mark for H1 in the area.
Several units of the plant also recorded brilliant individual performances during the 1st six months of the current fiscal. The Pipe Plant (ERW) produced 552 tonnes of ERW Pipes on 25th September, 2022 to break a nearly 4 decade old record.
