SAIL unveils SBD-2020 for Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) today unveiled the Standard Bidding Document (SBD-2020).

The state-run steel maker has revised and issued a new Standard Bidding Document (SBD-2020) for ‘Design, Supply & Installation of Plant and Equipment (Turnkey Basis).’ It was unveiled by SAIL Chairman Soma Mondal in presence of senior officials of the company.

SBD-2020 will facilitate improving transparency in tendering and evaluation, effective implementation of projects, reduced incidences of disputes and alignment with the latest government rules and guidelines for Aatmanirbhar Bharat and thereby promoting ease of doing business with SAIL.

SAIL produces iron and steel at five integrated plants and three special steel plants, located principally in the eastern and central regions of India and situated close to domestic sources of raw materials. SAIL manufactures and sells a broad range of steel products.

The company has been the frontrunner in taking forward a slew of measures of making India prosper through self-reliance, Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local initiatives.
