Management Trainees who have recently joined Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) have shared their views on Bhilai Steel plant (BSP), its Township and SAIL.
The trainees are launching their careers at SAIL. Hailing from different parts of the country, they are all set to settle down in Bhilai; praising the culture exhibited by the Bhilai collective.
Having completed B.Tech. in Ceramic Engineering from IIT Varanasi, Harsha Vardhan Singh says that he wanted a challenging career where he could learn continuously and that’s why he chose SAIL. “I’m sure I’ll get an opportunity to prove myself here,” he added.
People here are very warm, friendly and ready to learn new things. “I belong to Varanasi – the temple city. I found Bhilai too to be a city of temples. People from different religions live cohesively and in harmony here. Bhilai’s serenity and the culture of Mini-India connect everyone together,” he adds.
A resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Aman Kumar did his Fire Engineering from National Fire Service College, Nagpur. He is the recipient of the 1st prize in Ladder drill in Indian Fire Service Game. A positive environment is emulated at the workplace here, he says.
Ms. Shwetangini Panda who has done her Masters in Geology from ISM, Dhanbad feels SAIL is a brand name in its own. “SAIL is a living example of how work-life balance can be practiced,” she feels.
Amit Sharma from IIT, Varanasi and a resident of Haryana, is an energetic and established script writer. He has written many scripts for Youtube channels. Getting an opportunity to work with SAIL, a Maharatna company is a matter of pride, he says.
“To top it all, I feel privileged to have been posted at the flagship unit of SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant. Eleven time recipients of the PM’s Trophy for best integrated steel plant in the country and manufacturer of the world’s longest rails are achievements of BSP which entice young Engineers like us to work here,” he says.
A Fire Engineering graduate from National Fire Service College, Nagpur, Rupak Choudhury is enticed by Bhilai’s Civic Centre. SAIL’s brand image and the lifestyle its offers here attracted him, he says, adding he feels he will be able to use his skills in the best possible manner here.
“SAIL plays a significant role in making Atmanirbhar Bharat. It is a matter of pride to work with SAIL and I am proud to be associated with this company,” he says.
