Raipur, March 23
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had expressed its gratitude towards the society for the resilience shown in fighting the COVID-19 induced pandemic.
“A resolution was passed by the ABPS to commend and thank the entire society at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) for the unity shown in combating COVID-19,” Prant Sanghchalak of RSS Dr Purnendu Saxena said. He was briefing media persons about the proceedings of the ABPS, the apex body of the RSS that concluded in Bengaluru on March 20.
Dr Saxena said the governments, its agencies, organisations, people all joined hands to unitedly fight the pandemic. “The entire country stood united and found exemplary success against the pandemic. Everyone worked beyond the call of duty and our policemen, doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, all worked to defeat the pandemic,” he added.
It was this attitude that enabled the country to manufacture ventilators and PPE suits in a short time and even export it across the world, Dr Saxena said. “We have again shown and established the age-old ethos of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ by dispatching medicines during and after the pandemic,” he said.
Recalling the lockdown due to pandemic, Dr Saxena said that Swayamsevaks had to stop Shakhas as every citizen was expected to follow the restrictions; Sangh was no exception. This gave an opportunity to explore new ways to serve the society. During the pandemic RSS Swayamsevaks served everyone in the society through various means like distributing ration and many other tasks that also included on-line yoga and exercises to increase immunity.
Dr Saxena said the other resolution was over Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan. The Ram Mandir foundation laying ceremony was held where the Prime Minister, RSS Sarsanghchalak, Trust members and others participated. “It is obvious that the construction requires donations from the people. Swayamsevaks of RSS and common people were part of the campaign. The campaign established that every Bharatiya is connected to Bhagwan Ram.”
Chhattisgarh Prant Sanghchalak said that RSS would focus and work towards the gau-sewa, paryavaran, parivar prabodhan and samajik samrasta in the next three years. The RSS had planned to intensify its work at the rural level.
The Chhattisgarh Prant Prachar Pramukh, Kaniram Nandeshwar and Sah Prachar Pramukh Jagdish Patel were also present on the occasion.
