Sarda arm accorded three-star export house status

Sarda Metals and Alloys Limited (SMAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sarda Energy and Minerals Limited (SEML), has been accorded the status of ‘Three Star Export House’ by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

“With reference to the captioned subject, we are pleased to share that the status of Sarda Metals and Alloys Limited-wholly owned subsidiary of the company has been upgraded from Two Star Export House to Three Star Export House,” the company said in a regulatory filing today.

The certificate, issued by the DGFT under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is valid for a period of 5 years – i.e. from 18.08.2021 to 18.08.2026.

SMAL is operating 2 x 33 MVA Ferro Alloys plant powered by 80 MW captive thermal power plant.

SEML, incorporated in 1973, is the flagship company of Sarda Group. It is vertically integrated producer of steel with captive iron ore, manufacturer and exporter of niche grade manganese based ferro alloys. The company is self-sufficient with captive power from waste heat and coal.

Sarda Group is fast increasing its footprint in hydro power projects through SPVs.
