Sarda Energy posts 25% annual growth in first six months of current fiscal

Sarda Energy and Minerals Limited (SEML) has reported a 25 per cent annual (year-on-year) in consolidated profit to Rs 402 crore in the first half (H1) of the financial year 2024-25 (Fy25).

The Chhattisgarh-based diversified company with interest in steel, power and mining on Monday announced that consolidated and standalone financial results for the second quarter (Q2) and Half Year (H1) ended September 30, 2024. The consolidated profit after tax (PAT) jumped 25 per cent in H1 compared to previous year’s Rs 322 crore during the corresponding period, SEML said in a regulatory filing today.

The company registered a marginal growth of two per cent in the revenue from operations to Rs 2085 crore compared to H1 of the FY24.

The consolidated PAT for the Q2 jumped 3 per cent to Rs 203 crore compared to second quarter of the last financial year (FY24). However, on year-on-year basis, the Q2 of SEML jumped 36 per cent, the company said.

While the sponge iron production did not record any change compared to previous year in the H1 of FY25, company’s iron ore pellet out put jumped nine per cent. SEML has registered an impressive growth in the coal production during the first six months of the current financial year. The company produced over a million tonne of coal during the period, registering a growth of 39 per cent compared to previous year.

The thermal power production of the company rose 36 per cent while hydro power output increased marginally by 2 per cent in the H1 of the current fiscal.
