The Madhya Pradesh government has amended the notice and has now decided to reopen the schools with 50 per cent capacity following the emergence of new variant of COVID-19.
The decision came after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a high-level meeting to review the COVID-19 situation in the unfolding new development. Singh said the state government had decided to reopen the schools for the students below the age of 18 years with half the capacity. Earlier, it was decided to restart the classes with 100 per cent capacity.
According to the amendment order, 50 per cent students will attend the classes one day and remaining 50 per cent the next day. The consent of parents will be obligatory for sending children to school.
The online classes will be conducted as usual, leaving option for the students to select the mode.
