The fourth evening of the 28th edition of the enthralling Vedvyas Sangeet Nrutyotsav-2025 witnessed a captivating blend of classical grace and folk vibrancy.

The scintillating Odissi dance recital and the lively folk dance from Madhya Pradesh created an atmosphere filled with rhythmic beats, soulful melodies, and joyous celebration.

Alok Verma, Director In-Charge (RSP) with additional charge of DIC, BSL, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Among others present were Mrs. Namrata Verma, President, Deepika Mahila Sanghati; M P Singh, ED (Mines, OGoM-CMLO); Sudip PalChowdhury, ED (Projects); Dr Pratigna Palai, Mrs. Rita Rani, and Mrs. Navanita PalChowdhury, Vice Presidents of DMS; Bharat Bhushan Mohanty, former ED In-Charge, RSP; Aseem Kumar Behera, Advisor, Bhanja Kala Kendra; Trustees of Bhanja Cultural Trust and senior officers of RSP.

The dignitaries inaugurated the evening by lighting the ceremonial lamp and offering prayers to Lord Jagannath.

Addressing the gathering, the DIC lauded the vibrant cultural ethos of the Steel City and appreciated the efforts of Bhanja Kala Kendra for organizing this prestigious cultural festival year after year. Reaffirming RSP’s commitment to the promotion of art and culture in the region, he announced that the Bhanja Bhavan complex will soon be developed into a Centre of Excellence.

Organized under the aegis of Bhanja Kala Kendra at Bhanja Bhavan, the five-day dance and music extravaganza continues to enchant audiences in Rourkela’s Steel City.

The classical segment of the evening commenced with a mesmerizing group Odissi dance performance by the disciples of Guru Smt. Meera Das from Gunjan Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar. The presentation, titled “Sei Ramani,” celebrated the essence of womanhood, inspired by the poetry of Fakir Mohan Senapati. The dancers eloquently portrayed the strength and spirit of women—from Radha and Sita to the modern era.

The stage then came alive with a vibrant Folk Dance of Madhya Pradesh, featuring energetic martial movements performed by spirited male dancers to the pulsating rhythm of drums. The evening concluded with a colorful Sambalpuri dance by the talented students of Bhanja Kala Kendra, which drew resounding applause from the audience.

Earlier, the cultural programme began with a soothing violin concert by artists of Bhanja Kala Kendra.
S S Roychowdhary, CGM (RMHP) & President, Bhanja Kala Kendra, welcomed the gathering, while R K Mohapatra, General Secretary, Bhanja Kala Kendra, coordinated the proceedings. The event was anchored by Sasanka Sekhar Pattnaik, Deputy Manager (PR), RSP, and Ms. Koyena Dastidar.
