South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a key subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, is making significant strides under the Special Campaign 4.0, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to cleanliness in offices, waste management, and improved governance.

SECL has successfully cleaned over 100 sites across its operational areas, including mining sites, administrative buildings, and public spaces, significantly improving the aesthetics and safety of workspaces.

The disposal of more than 1400 metric tonnes of scrap has generated additional revenue of over Rs 7 crore, freeing up valuable space for future use. The company aims to reach its target of disposing of 2200 metric tonnes of scrap well before the end of the campaign.

SECL is actively promoting digital governance through the adoption of various digital solutions such as Land Acquisition Management Systems (LAMS), in-house web apps for CSR, Medical referrals etc, e-Office, SAP and ERP for efficient operations and reducing reliance on paper.

AMRIT Pharmacy Expansion: SECL has repurposed vacant spaces, formerly used for scrap storage, into pharmacies under the AMRIT initiative, providing affordable healthcare to employees and local communities.

Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, SECL has planted more than 1.46 lakh saplings across Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. This plantation drive is part of a broader effort to enhance green cover and ensure environmental sustainability.

Following the success of last year’s “Kabaad Se Kalakriti” (Waste to Wealth) initiative, SECL is once again transforming scrap materials into artistic sculptures, demonstrating innovation in waste management.
SECL continues to prioritize the settlement of pending grievances and the review of old files, with a special focus on public complaints and suggestions. With no pending grievances over 30 days, the company has streamlined its complaint resolution process, ensuring quicker redressal.

The campaign will run until October 31, 2024, with a focus on achieving full target completion, further contributing to the government’s vision of a cleaner, more efficient workplace.

It maybe noted that during the 1st phase of the campaign, “Swachhata Hi Sewa”, SECL’s cleaning efforts across its operational areas in CG and MP helped in disposing of more than 90 metric tonnes of waste. The campaign was also marked by various awareness initiatives such as competitions for school children, swachhata rallies, plantation, human chains and safai mitra welfare initiatives such as health camps and safai mitra samman.
