South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), an arm of state-run Coal India Limited (CIL), would provide financial assistance for the expansion of District COVID hospital expansion.
The company had sanctioned a sum of Rs 1.34 crore from its corporate social responsibility (CSR) head for the execution of the plan. An advance amounting to 20 per cent of the sanctioned amount had been disbursed, the SECL spokesperson said.
Besides civil works, the sanctioned amount would be spent on electrification, water supply, installing air conditioners, close circuit cameras and sound systems in the hospital. A 120-point oxygen supply line would also be installed to facilitate supply of oxygen to the patients in critical condition.
The third floor of the District Hospital in Bilaspur had been converted into District COVID hospital following the surge in the COVID-19 cases in the district.
SECL, the country’s largest coal producing company that recorded an annual output of over 150 million tonne for three successive years, had doles out all possible assistance to the local administration to combat the contagious COVID-19.
