The First coal-laden rake chugged off from the from the newly developed Dharamjaigarh Freight Terminal of Chhattisgarh East Railway Limited (CERL), a subsidiary of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).
The rake was loaded and dispatched from Dharamjaigarh Freight Terminal for NTPC-SAIL in Bhilai where the two public sector enterprises had set up power plant with equal stake. At a simple function held in Dharamjaigarh, the rake was fagged off on Saturday.
The Dharamjaigarh Freight Terminal developed by the East Rail Corridor Limited will generate additional coal loading potential to the tune of 3 rakes/day. The coal is loaded on RCR(Road-cum-Rail) mode from Jhampali Mine of SECL.
CERL, as a Subsidiary of SECL, is developing Rail Corridor in the state of Chhattisgarh to primarily facilitate coal evacuation from the coalfields located at Chhattisgarh. Kharsia to Dharamjaigarh (74 Km) of Main Line and Gharghoda to Bhalumuda (13.5 Km) of Spur Line has already been commissioned by CERL in SECR zone.
The Project is being developed under PPP model, entailing an investment of about Rs 3,055 crore.
