SECL has been awarded the first prize in the Coal Minister’s Award 2022-23 for successful implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi presented the award to Dr Prem Sagar Mishra, CMD, SECL at a grand function held in Delhi.
Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India and Pramod Agarwal, Chairman, Coal India Limited, S K Pal, Director Technical (Operations), SECL and senior officials of Ministry of Coal were present at the function of the third edition of the prestigious Coal Minister’s Awards.
Implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a part of CIL ONE ERP Project Passion, covering seven core business processes i.e. Production Planning, Finance and Controlling, Plant Maintenance, Sales and Distribution, Project Systems, Human Capital Management, and Materials Management completed and in operation in SECL.
The ERP implementation is enabling SECL to adopt Global best practices, proper monitoring and control of planning, projects and equipment to achieve targeted production, better inventory Control management, timely and accurate payment of salary and wages and other dues of employees, time bound issue of supply orders to billing to customers, Integrated business processes for optimizing resources, enable informed decisions based on real time and accurate data and efficient and effective customer management system.
Thereby benefiting the stakeholders of the company with the reduced billing life cycle of vendors/contractors has reduced from more than a month to within a week.
This has also made the whole functioning of SECL very transparent and accurate by reducing the manual interventions wherever possible with accountability.
